Registration and fees for online courses:

bullet

The registration process for online classes is the same as that for "traditional" classes. You must apply for admission, take a placement test, if needed, and then register for classes.

bullet

There is no difference between the tuition and fees for online and traditional classes. The fees are mandated by the State and most cannot be waived at this time. For information on tuition and fees, see the page maintained by Foothill Admissions & Records: http://www.foothill.edu/reg/fees.html.

bullet

To Apply & Register, follow  the steps outlined by Foothill College Admissions & Records.

bullet

For registration and term dates, refer to the Foothill College Academic Calendar.

bulletIMPORTANT: Once registered, your fees are due within five days. You will be dropped from all classes if payment in full is not remitted within five day or by the end of the second week of the quarter (by end of first week for Summer Session).

Late Registration:

bulletIf the course you are interested in is closed, check our late registration permits process on the first day of classes. Many instructors give permission to students to enroll late at that time. Preview the instructor's syllabus for prerequisites, required meetings, etc. before you request to add late.

bulletUnlike in traditional classes where instructors give you (literally) late add permits, codes to add an online class late are distributed electronically via the FGA site, starting on the first day of classes. Again, refer to the link provided above to see how the process works.

bulletIf you are on a wait list, you will not be automatically enrolled in a course if there is space. You do not need to request to add late. If the instructor will accept students during the late registration period, wait-listed students will be given first priority. You will receive a confirmation email (acceptance or denial) by the end of the first week of classes.

bulletIf you receive the error message that it is "not your day to register" when attempting to complete the late-registration process to add a course, it may mean that you have not yet submitted an application for the quarter. If you did not take classes the previous quarter, you are not considered a "continuing student." Before you can add a course to your schedule, you must apply to the college by completing the online application.

International Student Registration:

bulletImmigration regulations state that students in F-1 status can enroll in no more than one online class as part of your first 12 units each quarter. Please consult with Arthur Levine, an immigration advisor in the International Student Office, if you have any questions.

bulletInternationally-based students attending Foothill College online (in their own countries) should follow the directions at http://www.foothill.edu/reg/ as a new and former student and fill out the "New and Former Student Application" form.

bulletF-1 students from other schools in the United States who wish to take on-campus or online classes at Foothill College part-time or over the summer must follow these steps: http://www.foothill.edu/international/trans_4.php

DLI Student Registration:

bulletDefense Language Institute students, please see DLI registration.
