[Back] [Late Registration Permits] [Late On-line Registration Process]

Late registration takes place during the first two weeks of the quarter (only ONE week in the summer). Starting on the FIRST day of the term (not any earlier), you will be able to request permission to add online classes late from this page. Many instructors give permission to students to add late at that time. Emailing instructors to request permission to add does NOT  save time. Instructors will direct you here as they do not distribute late add codes manually. The server distributes them automatically after instructors approve student requests on our web site.

So, starting on the first day of classes, follow the steps listed below to request permission to add late:

1. Go to our online course listing: http://www.foothillglobalaccess.org/cgi/register/register.cgi

2. Scroll down to the row that lists the course you are interested in.

3. Look at the column all the way to the RIGHT

If the instructor accepts late adds, there will be a "request to add" link. Otherwise, the class will be marked "closed."

4. Click on "request to add" and complete the form. Be sure you enter a valid email address!

5. Once the instructor approves your request to add, the "system" will send you an automatic email, an authorization code, and instructions on how to enroll officially via the web. There may be a delay between your request and the approval email (see notes below).

Note: You will not be able to log into your course until the morning after you register officially.

Important Notes:

bulletIMPORTANT: Once registered, your fees are due. You will be dropped from all classes if payment in full is not remitted by the end of the second week of the quarter (by end of first week for Summer Session). Effective winter term, 2003.

bulletIf you are on a wait-list for online classes, you need not request to add again. If the instructor will accept late adds, wait-listed students are considered first. You will receive a confirmation email (acceptance or denial) by the end of the first week of classes.

bulletAlthough an instructor may be accepting late adds, there is no guarantee that you will get into a course. Depending on the popularity of a course, dozens of requests are often submitted within minutes, but there may be only a few slots left in the course.

bulletMost instructors accept students daily; others wait a few days until their roster "settles," meaning after they have accepted wait-listed students and dropped no-shows. Please be patient through this process. You may not receive an email (acceptance or denial) for a few days.

bulletIf a course is open, but your request was denied, don't be surprised. Some instructors leave their classes open to late adds, but they ONLY accept students who request to add from their official wait list.
